ENDORSE LOUIE
MEET LOUIE

From the classrooms of Lavaland Elementary to his graduation from West Mesa High School, Louie Sanchez’s story is rooted in Albuquerque’s Westside. His lifelong commitment to this city has shaped every step of his journey—from public safety and education to business and community service.
In 1988, Louie stepped up to serve his city, joining the Albuquerque Police Department as part of the 63rd cadet class. Over a distinguished 26-year career, he served in some of the department’s most critical units—including Field Services, the Gang Unit, Narcotics, and the FBI Task Force. As he rose through the ranks to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Acting Commander, Louie never lost sight of his mission: keeping Albuquerque families safe. Even after retiring in 2014, he continued serving—this time as a police officer for Albuquerque Public Schools, protecting students and staff alike.
But Louie’s service didn’t stop there.
Recognizing the importance of economic growth and job creation, Louie launched his own small business in 2015—founding an Allstate Agency in the heart of District 1. His agency not only thrived, earning national recognition, but also grew to provide jobs and opportunities for local residents. In 2020, he expanded his business to meet growing demand—proving that when you invest in your community, success follows.
In 2021, Louie boldly campaigned for the late Ken Sanchez’s District 1 seat and won, driven by a vision for safer communities and economic growth. During his term, he championed crime reduction initiatives, economic development, and opportunities to empower future generations.
Louie knows that Albuquerque’s future lies in the hands of our youth. That’s why he has personally funded scholarships for Westside students and has remained a strong advocate for high-quality education across the city.
His journey—from the streets he patrolled to the neighborhoods he’s helped build—has given him firsthand insight into the challenges our city faces: public safety, economic opportunity, and education. He’s not a politician looking for a title—he’s a public servant ready to continue the work.
Louie Sanchez is running for mayor to deliver thoughtful and collaborative solutions—and he’s counting on you!
Join our campaign today by donating, volunteering, and supporting to help Louie bring bold, proven leadership back to City Hall.
